First and foremost, I am a Texan. One of those obnoxiously proud Texans who will always remind out-of-staters that only Texas can fly its flag at the same height as the American flag, and only Texas can legally secede from the Union.
My husband and I both graduated from Texas Tech and since we met in Lubbock, we have been inseparable. We do almost everything together, but what we really love to do is be in the kitchen (or in the hubby’s case, outside at the smoker). I looove to bake and he loves to cook. Our differences in the kitchen pretty much define our personalities: I need order and a plan whereas he can pretty much fly by the seat of his pants and come up with something brilliant.
We started taking our passion on the road with our family BBQ Team: B-BQue (B bar B Que). Our team consists of my husband as our head cook, , one of my brother-in-laws, our 2 best friends, and of course myself.
When we are not cooking up a storm, we are working around the house. The to-do list never seems to end, but we enjoy working on it together and rewarding ourselves with a little video game time. Oh yeah.. we are both a little nerdy. World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Catan playing nerdy… Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones nerdy…
But that is us. And this is me and I hope I can share my experiences with you and you can learn something along the way!
My baking was also recently featured in the Comforts from Home promo on Food Network’s Instagram as well as on the USO Comforts From Home commercial on Food Network which aired on December 15th!
